Trigger Point Dry Needling
Trigger point dry needling is a treatment in physical therapy where filiform needles are inserted into muscle to elicit a twitch response in order to treat pain and movement abnormalities.
Treatment areas are determined based on specific referral patterns that relate to specific muscles that are affected by trigger points.
The treatment does cause some discomfort once the needle is inserted in the form of cramping and muscle twitching, but the increase in movement or improvement in posture is immediate following treatment.
